First, be sure there is 110V the the outlet by plugging a radio or electric light into the outlet. The circuit breaker could have blown or the high wind could have lifted one of the power wires off outside. I was called to neighbor's house to find why only half the circuit breakers had power...a tree limb had open-circuited one of the two power lines. Second, if 110V is present, replace the entire power head. Don't invest in parts.
Chain and screw drives are personal choices. If you get the screw drive go for the installer models.(that goes for chain drives too) These are boxed as pre-assembled one solid track. The Genies in stores have had the track cut to fit it in that little carton. These three assembly points are weak areas on the screw, whereras the one piece operator is very strong. Screw drives are also quieter in general. On most Genies the radio control and motor control circuit boards are individual, making DIY repairs less espensive.
