The stand is a very good value once it is built, but there are couple of issues that may make it easier to just spend the extra money for a prebuilt unit from a furniture or electronics store. They are as follows: 1. A significant portion of the screw holes are not predrilled. It is easy enough to figure out where to drill the holes, but it increases assembly time dramatically. 2. The foam packaging protected the unit adequately, but crumbled into little tiny pieces in transit. In turn, the pieces spilled on to my family room floor, and we're difficult to vacuum off the floor and rug. The cleanup also added significant time to the project. 3. The directions were incorrect on some steps, requiring the pieces to be installed in the mirror image of what the pictures show. Again, this added time to the project. 4. The finish, while brown like stated, includes grey/blue undertones. It actually looks nice with my Sony TV which has a silver cabinet, but was a surprise when it arrived. Had the foam packaging been intact when I opened it, I would have taped the box back up and returned it. In the end I am happy I did build it, but the whole thing was a bigger project than anticipated.
