Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HandyDandy This item is a poorly crafted piece of junk This item was not functional in several ways, starting with the spring clip that is supposed to lock the length at where you set it. When installed, I could shake the door and the inner tube would retract a little at a time into the outer tube as the spring clip was very loose and did not prevent the movement as intended, allowing the door to open fairly easily if a little slowly. Also, the metal portion of the saddle was not bent fully and kept the plastic tabs from locking the end of the bar into the saddle, so it would be easy for a burglar to just lift the bar out of the saddle with a piece of wire slipped between the inner and outer door, not that one would need to since the first issue described above is probably the easier way to gain entry. Save your time and money and pick something else. March 4, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Civ Not secure I only had to take it out of the package to find out the release lever that locks the bar in place only has to be giggled a small amount to release. If the door in giggled a small amount the release lever unlocks. Definitely not secure. A pin would work better. Back to Home Depot for a return. January 28, 2016

Mine is in center of window. No more bending over to remove a baseball bat or rod in bottom door runner. Easy to lift and stays put out of the way when not using. Just lower it down when locking door when you go out, or to bed. December 29, 2015

If there is any play in the door where you can move it the lock on the bar will release. If the lock was spring loaded that would not be the case but it is not. October 19, 2015
