Direct Drive Garage Door Openers

I didn’t want to UNDO the installation so I called Direct Drive to ask them to mail me the missing part. Phone was BUSY for over an hour. Finally, the call went through, but I reached an automated menu where I left my name and phone number. Well they didn’t call me back. I’m not surprised. I found a second phone number in the literature. Called that number but it was a DEAD number. I ended up buying a Chamberlain. The first thing I did was to call Chamberlain’s customer support to see that it actually does exists. Sommer/Direct Drive – Absolutely dreadful customer support. 1 STAR. April 21, 2016

After two years of operation, I have had NO problems. The Direct Drive opener has a unique product feature that allows for the head [with lights & controls] to be installed remotely from the overhead track. No other opener has this feature. The instructions to the garage door opener was not specific enough to tell you what side the travel head chain is inserted into the head and which end of the travel bar each anchor head is to be installed. I had to call tech help 4 times to get them to tell be which anchor head goes on which end. Once the travel rail was taken down and the heads reversed then the unit worked. Nice to have the heads identified before you put them up. Other than that it is a very nice and very quiet door opener. March 23, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MB ABSOLUTELY AN AMAZING GARAGE DOOR OPENER Very high quality. I have had this opener for over 2 years. I have a solid wood door that is extremely heavy. I am in the process of upgrading the door to a roll up door that weighs much less. This unit has worked very well for 2+ years. The door needs more spring tension but instead I am upgrading the door. This unit is well worth it! March 31, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by malinois Quiet as fog, and slower than fog. All 5 boxes at the store had damage/open on the ends. Check the contents before you leave the store. The unit is slower than fog, but just as quiet. Great replacement for the ancient worm drive that I had. March 22, 2016

Works like a charm after installation, but very, very quiet - looking forward to reliable and long term operation! March 15, 2016
